Inspiration needed.

Ci sono giorni in cui le cose proprio non funzionano... 

Resti a fissare lo schermo del computer nella vana speranza di riuscire a fare il tuo lavoro, di scrivere qualcosa di decente sul blog che non aggiorni da mesi, di dare un senso alla giornata...

E poi ti ritrovi a fissare delle immagini, ti perdi nei colori, e immagini di essere altrove...

Ecco, oggi per me è uno di questi giorni. 

There are days when things just don't work ...

You remain seated in front of the computer with the vain hope of being able to do your job, to write something decent on your blog, to give a sense to the day...

And you find yourself looking at some pictures, you get lost in the colors and image to be somewhere else...

Today for me is one of these days.

Uno dei più discussi debutti della settimana della moda parigina che si è da poco conclusa è stato quello di Alexander Wang da Balenciaga. Il ventinovenne americano di origini asiatiche ha infatti preso il posto di Nicolas Ghesquière, che era alla guida del marchio da 15 anni... (da quando ne aveva 25! A proposito... qualcuno sa dirmi che fine ha fatto Nicolas???)

One of the most discussed debuts of the Paris fashion week has been the Alexander Wang one at Balenciaga. The twenty nine year old American/Asian designer has in fact replaced Nicolas Ghesquière, who has been the leader of the brand for 15 years... (Since he was 25! By the way... Can someone tell me what happened to Nicolas? Where is he?)

Venuto alla ribalta nel 2008 dopo aver vinto il CFDA/Vogue Fashion Found Award, un anno dopo aver lanciato la sua prima collezione femminile, è diventato in breve tempo uno dei più influenti designers.

Il suo tributo al maestro Cristobal è stato lineare e pulito, a tratti classico. Un'esaltazione dello stile della Maison, uno studio delle forme declinato esclusivamente in due colori: il bianco e il nero. Il tocco di Wang è riconoscibile soprattutto nell'uso della pelle, da sempre uno dei suoi segni distintivi.

Came to the fore in 2008 after winning the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Found Award, only a year after his first women's collection, he has quickly become one of the most influential designers.

His tribute to Monsieur Cristobal has been clean and linear, classic in a way. An exaltation of the Maison' style, a shape research declined only in two colors: black and white.

The Wang's touch is recognizable especially in the use of the leather, one of its distinguishing features since the beginning.

Artista eclettica e carismatica, Florence Welch è l'anima dei Florence and The Machine. Giovanissima (26 anni, anche se dimostra più della sua età), ha uno stile che riflette notevolmente la sua personalità. Pantaloni, stampe cachemire e jacquard per il giorno, volants, pizzi, trasparenze e dettagli preziosi per la sera.

Voi cosa preferite?

Eclectic and charismatic artist, Florence Welch is the leader (and soul) of the Florence and The Machine. She's young (26 years, even if she seems older in my opinion) and talented, and her style reflects greatly her personality. Generally she choose trousers, cashmere and jacquard prints for the day; ruffles, lace, transparencies and precious details for the evening.

Buon Natale a tutti voi.*

Jeckerson Blogger Event.

Questa settimana ho avuto il piacere di contribuire all'organizzazione di un evento speciale. Alcune blogger selezionate sono state invitate nello show-room Jeckerson di via Savona a Milano per vedere e commentare parte della collezione invernale. La filosofia "Upside Down" del brand bolognese ha intriso l'intera serata: un manifesto dell'anticonformismo, del colore, della voglia di uscire dagli schemi, di enfatizzazione della personalità. L'evento è stato anche l'occasione del lancio del nuovissimo e-shop del marchio che, grazie alla partnership con Blooming, permette di acquistare i capi direttamente dalla pagina Facebook.

Cocktails, video, chiacchiere e polaroids hanno fatto da sfondo alla collezione.

This week I had the privilegde and honour to organize a special event. Some selected bloggers were invited to the Jeckerson show-room in Via Savona (Milan) to see and comment part of the winter collection. The "Upside Down" philosophy of the brand (which is from Bologna) influenced the entire evening: a manifesto of non-conformism attitude, the desire to break the rules, the emphasis of personality and colour. The event has been also the occasion to launch the new Jeckerson e-shop, in partnership with Blooming, that allows to purchase items directly from the Facebook page of the brand.
Cocktails, video, chat and polaroids were the backdrop to the collection.
